Child Poverty Solutions - Wales, is a partnership project between Save the Children, Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) and the Welsh Assembly Government.
The aim of the project is to support local authorities to prioritise and mainstream child poverty, in line with the Welsh Assembly Government's ‘Child Poverty Implementation Plan’ and the four statutory plans for local government.
A multi agency steering group oversees the project, which brings together a diverse cross section of partners with the common aim of reducing child poverty in Wales.
The project has two objectives:
- To assist two local authority pilot sites (Gwynedd and Rhondda Cynon Taff) to develop practical measures to reduce child poverty locally and disseminate this learning widely.
- To develop a dynamic web based resource, containing a range of tools, resources and advice to reduce child poverty.
A briefing providing more detail on the project is available here.
