Pembrokeshire has two programmes that aim to reduce nutrition and oral health inequalities amongst pre-school children: Eat Right/Smile Bright and Pembrokeshire Food and Health Strategy for Early Years Settings. This has improved both health and behaviour.

Conwy Children and Young People's Partnership has led a variety of initiatives tackling child poverty in Conwy. These include the expansion of support and training, childcare and the provision of advice through Sure Start centres (e.g., Citizens' Advice, Relate and credit unions).

Pembrokeshire Housing Association has implemented a variety of programmes to improve financial literacy; this work includes employing an in-house benefits advisor and publicising the work of local credit unions. As a result, benefit uptake has improved and failed tenancies declined.

Hove YMCA and Brighton and Hove County Council are working in partnership to offer integrated, multi-agency services for homeless young people through a single access point. Their services have prevented homelessness in 440 cases and helped 300 young people secure alternative accommodation.

Working Future was an innovative project in London that was established to tackle the disproportionately high levels of worklessness among homeless families in temporary private sector leased accommodation. The project aimed to increase employment by lowering the very high rents paid by households in this type of temporary accommodation and providing direct services to tackle other barriers to employment.

The Cardiff Pyramid Project is a volunteering project that seeks "to reach as many children as possible and to establish a routine check of their emotional health needs so that difficulties can be tackled early and effectively.” Its clubs seek to raise children’s self-esteem and to develop skills like resilience, speaking up for themselves, empathy and working in groups; its focus is on children with significant emotional difficulties.
