Training

Training resources for practitioners to deliver in their community

Do you want to provide training for other people involved in community regeneration in your area to help raise awareness of children and young people's right to be involved in the process?

Sometimes, half the battle can be persuading other adults (workers, volunteers or local residents) that involving children and young people is a good idea. Some people might be put off because they think it's too hard or it takes too much time to involve children and young people. This section contains training that can be delivered by community workers to help other people involved in regeneration in local communities.

Child poverty is a major issue in many deprived communities. It can be useful for people involved in community regeneration to have an understanding of child poverty, the way it is measured, the factors influencing it and how Local Authorities can work to improve things in their areas. The Child Poverty Training Module includes guidance notes to help you to deliver it to people involved in regeneration in your local community.

It can sometimes be difficult to persuade others you are working with that children and young people's right to participate is an important one and something that should always happen in community regeneration projects. Other people might not be aware of children and young people's right to have a say and be listened to and the benefits to the local community of involving children and young people.
